Who is this facility a good fit for?

  • Best fit if: Adults seeking residential substance use treatment with immediate admission; looking for detox followed by residential care in the same program; also needing support for co-occurring mental health conditions; interested in a program that integrates community, connection, holistic wellness with research-backed treatment; who prefer a smaller residential environment over a large campus.

  • Not a fit if: Adults seeking luxury or resort-style accommodations; looking for a residential program with extensive off-campus activities or recreational programming.

What to expect

Developing your care plan

  • Initial screening: The team takes the time to get to know clients during an initial assessment. Information gathered at this time helps them understand how they can best support each client.
  • Individual treatment plans: Treatment plans don’t follow a standard progression. Each is tailored to the specific needs of the client and evolves as these needs change.
  • Discharge planning begins at admission: Each client begins working with a dedicated discharge planner on day one. Throughout treatment, discharge planning evolves, focusing on next steps and how to prepare for continued recovery.
  • A multidisciplinary team: Clients work with multiple disciplines throughout treatment. The care team addresses medical, therapeutic, and discharge planning together.

Who you will meet with

  • Psychiatrists and nurse practitioners: Psychiatrists manage overall care, including medical management, with assistance from nurse practitioners. Every client meets with one of these professionals within 72 hours of arriving.
  • Nurses: Nurses provide support and direct care. They also monitor patients 24/7 during detox.
  • Therapists: Therapists both meet with clients individually and lead group therapy sessions.
  • Discharge planners: Dedicated discharge planners begin working with patients from the day they are admitted to ensure they have what they need to support long-term recovery when transitioning out of the program.

Typical schedule

  • A structured daily schedule: Daily treatment may include individual and group therapy and recovery meetings as well as family therapy when appropriate. Psychiatric oversight is part of the daily schedule as needed. Therapy approaches are rooted in research-backed approaches, like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). MAT is offered when clinically indicated.
  • Scheduled downtime: When not in structured treatment, clients have downtime when they can participate in other therapeutic programming, including yoga with an onsite instructor. This program places a lot of emphasis on community, which is integrated into downtime; for example, shared meals are considered a part of its recovery philosophy, and clients stay in shared rooms.
  • Free time: Clients have daily free time, too. They can read, listen to music, or do arts and crafts. Opportunities to walk outside are also available.

Living experiences and amenities

  • Small residential setting: This facility has a home-like atmosphere. Because it only treats a small group of clients at a time (with 6 detox and 23 residential beds), clients can have both quiet downtime and opportunities for interacting with peers.
  • Physical activity: Clients can take advantage of onsite yoga instruction or outdoor walking opportunities.
  • Personal space: Clients have room to enjoy quiet solo activities, like reading or listening to music. Or, they can participate in art and crafts on their own or with others.

Aftercare

  • Ongoing discharge planning: Discharge planners are assigned early on in admission to ensure that clients receive continued support when it is time to transition to another level of care.
  • Transitioning to lower levels of care: Jackson House Addiction Treatment & Recovery Centers has a sister program, West Coast Recovery Centers, that offers sober living, partial hospitalization (PHP), and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP). This can allow clients to transition to lower levels of care without having to search for a new program.

Pre-admissions experience

We conducted a series of pre-admissions calls, the most recent on July 3, 2026, to evaluate response time, transparency, and patient experience.

When we connected with a representative over the phone, we did have to sit on hold for a bit, but the conversation was worth the wait. The representatives were extremely helpful, incredibly thorough, and didn’t push for a commitment. They were transparent about cost and accommodations.

  • Access & Process (95% positive): Intake and discharge planning are often described as helpful and organized, while a few reviewers point to concerns involving medical care and medication processes.
