Who is this facility a good fit for?

  • Best fit if: Adults who need medically supervised detox and residential treatment in a hospital-based setting; are withdrawing from alcohol, opioids, benzodiazepines, or multiple substances; may have chronic medical conditions or co-occurring mental health concerns like anxiety, PTSD, bipolar disorder, or depression; benefit from structured daily programming; want a balance of evidence-based treatment, medications for addiction treatment (MAT), and wellness-focused therapies; are veterans or individuals recovering from trauma; prefer a more comfortable residential environment with amenities like private room options, fitness spaces, and holistic programming; and have private insurance, TRICARE, or can self-pay.

  • Not a fit if: Those seeking fully independent or loosely structured treatment; are medically stable and do not need detox or higher levels of clinical oversight; prefer smaller settings with fewer patients; are looking for treatment focused primarily on mental health without substance use concerns; or want exclusively holistic or alternative recovery approaches without evidence-based clinical care.

What to expect

Developing your care plan

  • Developing your care plan: Initial assessments usually include medical and psychiatric evaluations, substance use and mental health screening, withdrawal risk assessment, medication review, and discussion of any significant medical concerns. Early detox and initial treatment planning focus on ensuring medical safety and stability in addition to identifying the best possible placement in terms of providing further treatment.
  • Personalized treatment planning: Individual treatment plans are adjusted throughout care and based on withdrawal stabilization, mental health symptoms, therapeutic engagement, and recovery progress. Patients stay under the care of physician and clinical providers during detox and residential treatment. Ongoing reassessment determines change as needs of the client evolve.

Who you will meet with

  • Medical providers: Physicians, psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, and more than 20 registered nurses provide client care during detox and residential treatment.
  • Clinical team: Therapists, counselors, group facilitators, and case managers provide clients with individual therapy, group treatment, discharge planning, family coordination, and continued recovery support services prior to and after they leave treatment.
  • Recovery support staff: Some staff members are in recovery themselves, which may help patients feel more understood and supported during treatment.

Typical schedule

  • Structured Daily Programming: Daily programming is highly structured. It typically includes scheduled wake-up times, meals, therapy groups, recovery meetings, and evening reflection. Mornings often include medical check-ins, group therapy, and goal setting. During the afternoons, individuals may participate in individual counseling, psychoeducation, relapse prevention groups, and experiential therapies. Evening programming may include peer support meetings and recovery-focused activities.
  • Therapies and wellness programming: Treatment includes evidence-based and trauma-informed therapies such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and EMDR. In addition to clinical treatment, clients can participate in a variety of experiential therapies, such as yoga, meditation, mindfulness, and art and music therapies.

Living experiences and amenities

  • Residential experience: The facility combines both hospital-based detox and residential treatment in one location, which allows for a more welcoming, recovery-centered environment that is much less clinical than a typical medical facility. The program is designed for clients to move directly from detox into residential programs without leaving the facility. This allows for continuity in their recovery process as well as stabilization.
  • Rooms and daily environment: The standard rooms that clients will be housed in are shared and have plush linen bedding. Individuals can request a private room if they want to increase their personal space. In addition, clients have access to an outdoor pool, a fitness center, various recreational spaces, chef-prepared meals, and time set aside each day for relaxation and leisure activities focused on building routines, creating connections socially, and supporting overall recovery independent of treatment.

Aftercare

  • Relapse prevention and continuing care: The process of creating a plan for post-discharge treatment and continued care begins during treatment. This can include developing a plan for preventing relapses from occurring, referral to outpatient programs, referrals for counseling services, and arranging for the client to receive additional higher level treatment if necessary.
  • Ongoing recovery support: After being discharged from treatment, individuals can continue their participation in recovery by participating in 12-Step programs or other alternative programs such as SMART Recovery, and connecting with alumni.
