AToN Center
Overview
Nestled on a secluded 10-acre estate in California, AToN Center offers clients the opportunity to choose their own approach to recovery. For those interested, the center offers a Refuge Recovery program, inspired by Buddhist principles and philosophies. Both 12-step and SMART recovery programs are available to choose from, giving clients control over their pathway to healing. The center features daily therapy with experienced clinical staff, as well as support for pregnant/postpartum women, seniors, and veterans. Holistic therapies including massage and acupuncture are offered three times per week.

Daily Individual Therapy with Licensed Clinicians
AToN Center builds recovery around consistency and trust. Every client receives daily one-on-one sessions Monday through Friday with a doctoral-level psychologist or master's-level therapist, supported by multiple group sessions each day. This approach gives clients immediate opportunities to work through emotional challenges and build coping skills—critical steps toward restoring mental and emotional health.
Dual Diagnosis Support That Meets People Where They Are
Mental health struggles often go hand-in-hand with substance use. AToN Center specializes in dual diagnosis care that treats both conditions together, not separately. Clients aren't expected to "fix" one issue before addressing another. For individuals navigating healthcare access challenges or needing coordinated care for multiple conditions, this integrated model makes recovery feel possible. Additionally, AToN provides trauma-informed care to adults across all age groups—including young adults, seniors, and pregnant/postpartum women.
Choice-Based Recovery
No two recovery journeys look the same. AToN gives clients real choice in their treatment pathways, offering Refuge Recovery, a Buddhist-inspired path centered on mindfulness and compassion, alongside traditional 12-Step programs and non-12-step programs including logic-based SMART Recovery. This flexibility can make a crucial difference for people whose cultural background, spiritual beliefs, or personal experiences don't fit traditional models. To complement these programs, holistic therapies including massage, yoga, acupuncture, and hypnotherapy, and breathwork sessions are offered three times per week.
Restorative Environment Designed for Physical and Emotional Healing
Recovery is about more than therapy sessions. It's about building new rhythms that support whole-body healing. AToN's estate-like campus includes private rooms, gourmet meals, saltwater pools, koi ponds, and spaces for meditation and holistic therapies. These amenities aren’t just luxuries—they help regulate the nervous system, restore physical health, and create calming routines that many clients have been missing for years.
Flexible Technology Use
AToN Center allows controlled use of phones and laptops during treatment. This policy acknowledges that recovery doesn't always mean pressing pause on life. Whether staying connected to children, managing work obligations, or maintaining vital support networks, clients are trusted to balance their responsibilities while engaging in deep clinical work.
