Peer-Led Social Model Recovery for Women

Sun Street Centers - Women Residential Program provides 24-hour residential treatment for women seeking recovery from drug and alcohol use disorders. The program follows a Social Model approach that emphasizes mutual support, shared responsibility, and learning through lived experience. Residents are encouraged to take active roles in their recovery through peer accountability, resident council participation, and regular involvement in 12-step meetings and sponsorship.

Matrix-Based Education Paired With Counseling and Family Support

Treatment includes structured recovery education focused on early recovery skills, communication, and relapse awareness. The program uses the Matrix Model curriculum to support relapse prevention and family education. Residents also participate in individual and group counseling with certified substance use counselors, along with family empowerment counseling sessions and support groups. Services are available in both English and Spanish.

A Home-Like, Perinatal-Friendly Residential Environment

The program serves adult women, including pregnant and postpartum women and women parenting young children. Treatment takes place in a Victorian-style residential home designed to feel non-institutional, with shared bedrooms and bathrooms, communal living and dining spaces, and a fenced outdoor yard. All meals are provided, and on-site laundry helps residents maintain daily routines while focusing on recovery. Living spaces are arranged to accommodate mothers and young children when needed.

Aftercare and Practical Supports for Life Beyond Treatment

Support continues beyond residential care through weekly alumni aftercare. The program also connects residents to practical recovery supports such as peer mentoring, recovery coaching, transportation assistance, help accessing social services, housing support, and employment counseling or training. These services are intended to help women transition out of residential treatment with greater stability and community connection.
