Flexible outpatient treatment from home

The virtual IOP is designed for clients who want to engage in structured care while living at home and continuing to attend to the responsibilities of their daily lives. This can be ideal for busy professionals, students, individuals who travel, or people who have limited transportation. Clients who don’t need 24/7 residential treatment may start their recovery with IOP, while others may step down from a residential program to IOP for the next step in their treatment continuum. The program is available for adults living anywhere in California.

Evidence-based therapy and holistic wellness

Shanti Recovery & Wellness blends clinical therapies with Eastern wellness methods, emphasizing inner peace as a key part of recovery. Evidence-based therapies include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and motivational interviewing (MI). Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy is also offered, along with trauma-informed care. Holistic approaches involve meditation, yoga, mindfulness activities, breathwork, and sound baths.

Care for co-occurring conditions

Clients who need care for mental health concerns and trauma alongside substance use can receive treatment for all of these at the same time. Some conditions that can be addressed include depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Psychiatric consultations are offered, and clinicians can manage mental health medications when needed. Medications for addiction treatment (MAT) may also be prescribed as appropriate to help ease withdrawal symptoms and cravings, allowing clients to more fully engage in the recovery process.

Family involvement and peer support

When clients want them involved, loved ones can participate in telehealth family counseling sessions. Family counseling is designed to help families improve communication, create or reinforce a supportive environment, and rebuild trust that may be strained by substance use. Group therapy sessions give clients a chance for peer support and mutual guidance from others who have been in their shoes. Continuing online peer groups are available for graduates of the program to stay connected long-term.
