Florence Crittenton Agency Inc
Overview
Florence Crittenton Agency offers substance use and behavioral health care for adolescents on a nature-based Knoxville campus designed for growth and stability. Programs include a 60-day dual-diagnosis residential track for boys and girls, and a 90-day group-home model for girls. Square One, the intensive outpatient program, offers phased therapy with family integration. On-site academics at New Pathways Academy keep students on track with school, while outdoor amenities like a ropes course and a gym, combined with transportation support, reduce barriers to care and help teens build coping skills for long-term stability.

Restorative Campus Setting for Adolescents
Florence Crittenton Agency (FCA) sits on 26 wooded acres overlooking the Great Smoky Mountains, offering a calm yet structured environment for teens in treatment. The campus includes therapy spaces, classrooms, a gymnasium with a basketball court, and outdoor features like a ropes course and climbing tower. These facilities give young people ways to build confidence, work through challenges, and connect their recovery journey to real-world experiences.
Specialized Residential and Outpatient Programs
FCA provides multiple tracks of care to meet the needs of adolescents. Youth Summit of Recovery offers a 60-day residential program for boys and girls addressing substance use and co-occurring mental health conditions. Crittenton Youth Services is a 90-day structured group-home program for girls ages 13 to 18, focusing on emotional regulation, communication, and preparation for independent living or family reunification. Square One, the intensive outpatient program, runs five days a week and blends individual, group, and family therapy with academic support.
Trauma-Informed and Skill-Building Care
Treatment is grounded in evidence-based approaches including trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, relapse prevention, and anger management. Medication management is available for mental health needs, with coordination for clients receiving medications elsewhere. Core skills like stress management, conflict resolution, and independent living are emphasized alongside family education and counseling. Aftercare and discharge planning ensure that clients have the tools and support to continue progress after treatment.
Integrated Education and Community Connections
New Pathways Academy, the agency’s on-campus middle and high school, allows teens to maintain academics during treatment through credit recovery, GED preparation, and individualized education. Vocational training and educational support expand future opportunities. FCA also extends its impact beyond campus through partnerships with schools, courts, and community groups, providing outreach and prevention programs that help young people avoid entering deeper crises.
