Who is this facility a good fit for?
Best fit if: Adults who want medically monitored detox and residential treatment in one place; need structured care for substance use and co-occurring mental health concerns; prefer a quiet, more private setting with comfort-focused amenities; want flexibility to stay in contact with family or keep up limited work responsibilities during treatment; have private insurance or can self pay.
Not a fit if: Those who need hospital-level psychiatric care; want outpatient-only care without a residential stay; prefer a fully unplugged program with no access to phones or laptops; or want to use Medicare or Medicaid.
What to expect
Typical schedule
- Daily rhythm: Days begin as early as 5:00 a.m. for medications and usually winds down around 10:00 p.m. on weekdays and 11:00 p.m. on weekends. Weekly outings are offered, and Sunday visitation may be available with therapist approval.
- Structured daily programming: Days are structured but flexible, with group therapy as a central part of treatment, lasting up to about 6 hours a day, with time also set aside for meals, recreation, and rest.
- Therapy and recovery support: Programming includes 12-step classes, non-12-step classes, SMART Recovery, holistic care options, and meetings with therapists multiple times per week.
Developing your care plan
- Admissions assessment: During intake, staff assess each client’s substance use, physical health, mental health, and overall clinical needs.
- Individualized planning: The facility develops an individualized treatment plan based on each client’s needs, and progress is measured using personalized treatment goals.
- Detox and ongoing assessments: Detox is medicated and typically lasts about 3–14 days depending on the client’s condition, and treatment is adjusted based on client progress.
Who you will meet with
- Medical team: Doctors and nurses support clients during detox, provide monitoring, and help with medication management when needed.
- Therapists and counselors: Licensed social workers and licensed clinical professional counselors provide individual therapy and lead group sessions.
- Behavioral health support staff: Behavioral health technicians help with day-to-day support throughout treatment.
- Recovery advocate and care team: A recovery advocate helps bridge communication between clients and staff, and the broader team helps support case management and planning for next steps after treatment.
Living experiences and amenities
- Private, comfort-focused setting: Clients stay in private rooms and have access to a heated indoor pool, fitness equipment, library, and shared spaces designed for both connection and downtime.
- Quiet rural environment: The grounds feature outdoor space for walking, a pond for fishing, and room for activities like volleyball, horseshoes, and other activities.
- Connection to everyday life: Phones, laptops, and tablets are allowed outside of designated treatment times, making it easier for clients to stay in touch with loved ones and, when appropriate, continue limited remote work.
Aftercare
- Planning starts during treatment: Staff begin discharge and aftercare planning before clients leave residential care.
- Support after discharge: Clients leave with a continued care plan that includes outpatient treatment, counseling, and support groups closer to home.

The conversation felt helpful and accommodating, with clear answers about treatment planning, visitation, and day-to-day expectations.
