Who is this facility a good fit for?
Best fit if: Adults who need intensive outpatient treatment without 24-hour residential care; want a structured weekday schedule with frequent clinical support; would benefit from optional recovery housing; value weekly therapy, psychiatric care, and recovery management; prefer flexibility to choose elective groups that align with their recovery goals; are ready to step down from PHP to evening IOP while returning to work, school, or family responsibilities.
Not a fit if: Need 24-hour inpatient or residential treatment or ongoing medical supervision; are seeking luxury accommodations or resort-style amenities; prefer minimally structured or self-directed outpatient care.
What to expect
Developing your care plan
- Intake assessments: During intake clients complete assessments, including a biopsychosocial assessment with an individual therapist or program director. Treatment planning begins during this time.
- Collaborative treatment planning: Care plans are created with the client, individual therapist, and the broader treatment team working together. The client has the opportunity to voice concerns, and share their priorities, and recovery goals. Plans can be updated as needs change.
Who you will meet with
- Individual therapist: An individual therapist meets with the client at least once a week for a 60-minute session.
- Recovery manager: Clients may also meet weekly with a recovery manager who will help them map out their continued recovery support.
- Psychiatric team: Weekly psychiatric appointments help support client’s mental health needs. These are primarily conducted by a psychiatric nurse practitioner.
Typical schedule
- PHP: Clients taking part in PHP can expect treatment Monday through Saturday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Optional recovery housing is available as well. Partial hospitalization is the primary level of care for the facility and typically acts as the entry point for new clients.
- IOP: The IOP program usually comes after clients have successfully completed PHP. It takes place Monday through Friday from about 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. This schedule is intended to support those returning to work or school.
- Daily programming: A normal day begins with gender-specific process groups beginning about 9 a.m. Mornings can also include weekly individual therapy appointments and recovery manager meetings. After a two-hour lunch break from approximately noon-2.p.m., clients can choose from topic-based elective groups to pick one that is most relevant to their recovery.
- Supportive housing: Clients using supportive housing have a 10 p.m. curfew. Grocery trips take place on scheduled days and they have the opportunity to attend recovery meetings in the evenings.
Living experiences and amenities
- Housing experience: Though this is not a residential program, clients using supportive housing will attend treatment at the facility during the day and then be transported to housing.
- Supportive housing amenities: Amenities can include TVs, pool tables, ping-pong tables, nature trails, and river access.
Aftercare
- Step-down care: Typically clients go into IOP after PHP with the evening availability intended to support reintegration into work, school, or family life.
