Mirror Lake Recovery Center
Overview
Structured addiction and mental health treatment with medical detox and residential care on a rustic, lakeside campus within a large, community-oriented recovery environment. Veteran-specific services, support for pregnant women, and same-day or next-day admissions may help meet the needs of clients requiring more immediate or specialized care. Clients can choose between faith-based 12-step programming or SMART Recovery and holistic treatment approaches while receiving trauma-informed counseling and dual-diagnosis support. Shared cabin-style housing and outdoor recreation with fishing may appeal to adults seeking a more nature-focused and peer oriented recovery experience. This facility accepts Medicaid, TRICARE, private insurance plans, and self-pay options.

What to expect
Developing your care plan
- Admissions and intake process: Clients seeking same-day or next-day admissions may find availability depending on bed space. Intake assessments review medical history, substance use, mental health needs, and withdrawal risk to determine whether medical detox is needed before residential treatment. The admissions team may also help with insurance verification, transportation coordination, and explain various treatment options prior to arrival.
- Collaborative treatment planning: A specific addictions counselor may be identified at the beginning of treatment to help clients develop recovery goals, discharge planning, and continuous treatment priorities. Care plans are reviewed every week and may include faith-based programming, SMART Recovery, holistic services, trauma-focused counseling, and mental health support depending on client needs and personal preferences.
Who you will meet with
- Individual counseling and therapy: Assigned addictions counselors help clients throughout treatment. Additionally, various therapists and counselors work with individuals during counseling and evidence-based therapies such as EMDR and motivational enhancement in addition to cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT).
- Medical and detox support: Nurses, medical detox staff, nurse practitioner support, and physician monitoring are available when needed to help manage withdrawal symptoms, medications for addiction treatment (MAT), psychiatric needs, and co-occurring mental health conditions during treatment.
Typical schedule
- Daily structure and programming: Residential treatment is highly structured and follows a daily schedule typically starting around 7:30 a.m. with wake-up and breakfast before morning groups start around 8:30–9:00 a.m. During the day, clients participate in therapy groups, individual counseling, mental health sessions, recovery meetings, meals, and scheduled breaks. Evening programming may continue until approximately 7:00 p.m. This is all intended to create a routine-focused environment rich in consistency, peer engagement, and accountability.
- Recovery track options: Daily programs vary depending on which recovery track a client selects. Clients may choose between Christian and 12-step programming, SMART Recovery, and holistic treatment approaches during their stay at the facility.
Living experiences and amenities
- Cabin-style residential environment: The facility has shared cabin-style housing on a wooded lakeside campus that was originally a former Girl Scout camp. Clients typically stay with 2-3 other residents and share bathrooms inside each cabin, creating a more communal and recovery-focused atmosphere as opposed to a private or luxury-style residential setting.
- Outdoor recreation and holistic activities: Access to outdoor downtime and recreation may include walking paths, outdoor areas, fishing, yoga, and art therapy.
Aftercare
- Aftercare planning and continuing care: Clients and staff work together on discharge planning during treatment. Staff members help to coordinate transition into continuing care programs, recovery resources, and next-step treatment options beyond residential care.
- Alumni and recovery support: Individuals can participate in weekly alumni meetings, ongoing peer support, and continued 12-step or SMART Recovery programs. They may also have the opportunity to make community-based recovery connections through the facility’s coordinators. This is intended to help clients maintain support after leaving residential treatment.
