Community-Rooted and Culturally Informed
MPTS Casa ALMA/Casa MARIA is operated by Hispanic UMADAOP, Inc., a nonprofit organization serving Cleveland’s Hispanic/Latinx and wider communities. The program emphasizes culturally responsive care, offering services in both English and Spanish. Clients are supported in a setting that honors culture, family, and community as central to the recovery process.
Flexible Residential and Outpatient Care
The facility provides residential treatment lasting up to 30 days, with length adjusted to client needs, along with outpatient and intensive outpatient programs. Residential clients live at Casa ALMA or Casa MARIA in safe, 24-hour supervised housing, while outpatient services offer flexibility for individuals balancing recovery with family, work, or school. Detox is not available onsite, and clients needing withdrawal management are referred to external providers before beginning treatment.
Specialized and Evidence-Based Treatment
Treatment combines evidence-based approaches, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, relapse prevention, and 12-step facilitation, with trauma counseling, anger management, and family therapy. Programs serve diverse groups, including women, men, young adults, veterans, seniors, and pregnant or postpartum women. Specialized services also support clients with co-occurring disorders, chronic pain, gambling disorder, suicidality, and those who have experienced trauma, domestic violence, or sexual abuse.
Building Stability Beyond Treatment
Recovery support extends well past discharge. Clients benefit from aftercare planning, recovery coaching, and peer mentoring. Services address broader life needs with housing support, vocational training, GED preparation, employment counseling, and social service navigation. Transportation assistance, health education, and HIV prevention services further reduce barriers to care. As part of Hispanic UMADAOP’s broader mission, the program also contributes to community prevention and re-entry initiatives, reinforcing recovery networks across Cleveland.
