Women-Only Residential Care in a Small, Home-Like Setting

Horizon House provides residential treatment for adult women with substance use disorders in a quiet, discreet home environment. The program is intentionally small and designed to prioritize safety, privacy, and daily structure. Staff are available 24/7, and residents follow a consistent schedule that supports stabilization and routine while focusing on recovery.

Trauma-Informed Therapy With Integrated Mental Health Support

Care at Horizon House is trauma-informed and evidence-based, addressing substance use alongside mental health needs. Residents participate in individual counseling, group counseling, and family counseling, with additional focus for those with histories of trauma or abuse. Programming emphasizes skill development through grief counseling, anger management, communication skills, healthy relationship education, recovery education, and coping strategies that support emotional regulation and long-term recovery.

Practical Supports That Help Remove Barriers to Care

Individualized case management is a central part of the program, helping residents coordinate services and prepare for the next steps after residential treatment. Peer support is encouraged through participation in self-help recovery groups such as Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and Narcotics Anonymous (NA). Transportation assistance is available, helping residents access appointments and required services while in care.

Privacy, Accessibility, and Outdoor Space

The residence offers private bedrooms and bathrooms for each resident, supporting dignity and personal space during treatment. Accessible entryways and showers accommodate residents with disabilities. A secure backyard provides space for outdoor recreation, reflection, and downtime within a protected setting.

Support for Pregnant Women, Mothers, and Transition Planning

Pregnant women and women with children are welcome at Horizon House. Children may visit at scheduled times, with overnight stays permitted on weekends, allowing families to remain connected during treatment. Many residents complete the program in about 90 days. As discharge approaches, the program supports transition planning, including connections to safe and sober living options in the community and continued follow-up after residential care.
