Residential Treatment for Mothers and Young Children

Pregnant and parenting women receive residential treatment in a family-centered setting. Children up to age five can live onsite with their mothers, helping families remain together while recovery begins. The program offers 24-hour care focused on stabilization, emotional healing, and daily structure. Each treatment plan is personalized and updated regularly, allowing mothers to progress at their own pace. This family-integrated model supports bonding, reduces barriers to participation, and creates a safe environment where mothers can focus on both recovery and parenting skills.

Trauma-Informed and Evidence-Based Care

The perinatal program blends clinical best practices with a compassionate, trauma-informed approach. Treatment includes individual, group, and family therapy designed to address both substance use and the underlying causes that often accompany it, such as trauma or stress. Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and 12-step work are among the core methods used. Medications for addiction treatment (MAT) are available when needed to ease cravings and withdrawal symptoms. Each client works closely with counselors and medical professionals to identify triggers, build resilience, and practice coping skills for long-term recovery.

Family and Life Skills Support

The program offers cooperative childcare, parenting support, and post-NICU care coordination. Family-focused services include Celebrating Families! support groups designed to strengthen communication and restore trust within households. Mothers also receive employment case management, vocational support, and financial skill-building workshops to prepare for greater independence after treatment. A weekly nursing consultation and integrated primary care help ensure physical and mental wellness throughout recovery.

Holistic Services and Community Integration

In addition to therapeutic care, the center provides a range of supportive and restorative services. Clients have access to acupuncture, domestic violence services, social skills development, and mental health counseling as needed. Case management helps connect families with housing, transportation assistance, and social service resources within the community. All graduates and their family members are invited to join the Lifetime Aftercare Counseling Program, an ongoing, no-cost support resource. Through weekly group sessions and self-referral options with the Lighthouse Counseling team, alumni maintain access to guidance, community, and accountability. This long-term connection helps families navigate life after treatment with continued encouragement and clinical support.
