Specialized Support for Men
The center provides services just for men and male-identifying individuals, creating a focused and supportive environment made for gender-specific recovery. This approach helps men find mutual support and meaningful connections, as well as address challenges like anger, trauma, and emotional regulation with peers who can relate to their experiences. Group and individual sessions are designed to meet the emotional and psychological needs of men, fostering open dialogue, accountability, and lasting personal growth.
Soothing Environment Designed for Long-Term Recovery
Located in a private residential neighborhood, the setting is designed to support a calming recovery environment. The center, surrounded by palm trees, features designated smoking and vaping areas, gym and fitness time, and nutrition programs. Its proximity to community resources is a benefit to cohesive aftercare planning and a smooth transition back to daily life after residential care.
Combined 12-Step Evidence-Based Care with Christian Counseling Services
Clients have the option to choose a Christian counseling track that integrates biblical principles with evidence-based care. This flexibility allows men to align their recovery plan with their faith while also benefiting from psychological treatment, including focused therapy. 12-step groups are incorporated into care plans, which are adapted for each client’s needs. Every two weeks, a voluntary spiritual medicine wheel activity is offered.
Therapy for the Whole Family
The program includes Family Systems Therapy to address relationship dynamics that contribute to addiction and recovery. This approach helps men and their loved ones understand how family roles, communication patterns, and unresolved conflicts can impact substance use and mental health. By involving family members in the recovery process when appropriate, the program fosters healthier boundaries and emotional support. Sessions aim to rebuild trust, improve conflict resolution, and provide families with tools to support mutual healing.
Case Management and Aftercare Planning
Comprehensive support is offered to help men navigate life after treatment. Discharge planning includes naloxone education and adapted aftercare plans, with ongoing outcome follow-up to monitor progress. Clients receive case management, housing assistance, and help accessing social services like job support and healthcare, including mental health care as needed. A strong alumni network offers encouragement and helps men reintegrate into their communities.
What Patients Are Saying
Many former clients report life-changing experiences at His House, often citing the compassion and competence of the staff as central to their recovery. Alumni also describe strong aftercare support and effective dual diagnosis treatment. While some reviewers mention limitations such as facility amenities, the overarching sentiment points to meaningful recovery outcomes and sustained support beyond discharge.
