Who is this facility a good fit for?
Best fit if: Adults seeking a highly structured program; who want medical oversight and evidence-based therapies and integrated support for co-occurring mental health concerns; are looking for continued measurement of progress and long-term follow up; veterans and first responders interested in specialized treatment.
Not a fit if: Adults looking for self-directed treatment; who want unrestricted phone access or frequent visitation early in treatment; who are looking for luxury or a resort-style experience; who have family that cannot take part in the required education before visitation.
What to expect
Developing your care plan
- Initial assessment: Prior to admission, clients undergo a series of initial assessments that cover their substance use, medical, and behavioral health histories. This is done to help determine what level of care a client needs and helps support treatment planning.
- Personalized treatment planning: Care plans are developed between the client, an identified support person or loved one in the client's life, and the multidisciplinary treatment team. Treatment progress is continually measured with standardized progress assessments. This includes at admission, weekly during treatment, and at discharge. These assessments are used to evaluate progress and adjust care plans as needed.
Who you will meet with
- Clinical and medical care: The clinical and medical team clients work with includes individual and group therapists, a medical director, and nurse practitioners. A nursing team with registered nurses (RNs), and licensed vocational or psychiatric technicians (LVNs/LPTs) are available for 24-hour medical monitoring and support.
- Daily support: Behavioral Health Technicians are available to provide daily guidance and support, as well as accountability throughout treatment. Clients may also work with a registered dietitian for nutrition and wellness support.
Typical schedule
- Daily routine: The facility uses a highly structured schedule with a typical day starting at 6:30 a.m. and ending with lights out at 11 p.m. Mornings start off with room checks, goal setting, and meditation, followed by clinical programming that includes psychoeducation, and skills and process groups. During the afternoon, clients will take part in fitness activities, self-care, and additional therapy groups. In the evening, clients have dinner, participate in 12-step or community meetings and reflection time before bed.
- Therapies and recovery programming: Treatment follows a rotating evidence-based curriculum that includes cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), trauma-informed care, relapse prevention, and core addiction psychoeducation. Holistic therapies include mindfulness, yoga, healing with sound, and process groups. Clients may also take part in Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and Narcotics Anonymous (NA) in addition to the 12-Step and alumni support meetings.
- Family involvement: Clients can visit with family after successful completion of detox. With clinical approval, they can see a maximum of two visitors over the age of 18 on Saturdays and Sundays from 2:45 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. Visitors must take part in a mandatory family education seminar that occurs Saturdays from 1-3 p.m. Clients wishing to see family must submit requests by Wednesday at noon. Visitation takes place in common areas such as the cafeteria or patio.
- Veteran and first responder support: The Tactical Recovery program offers programming designed around military culture and trauma. It includes veteran-and first responder-specific therapy groups conducted by staff trained in military culture. A veteran-ready program is available through the VA Community Care Network as well.
Living experiences and amenities
- Phone use: Personal cell phones are permitted in limited capacity. Clients can use their phones for 60 minutes a day when on applicable residential tracks.
Aftercare
- Discharge and aftercare planning: Discharge planning begins during treatment. Clients can step down through care from detox and residential to PHP or IOP based on their clinical needs. After completing treatment, clients still receive monthly follow-up assessments that continue for 12 months after discharge to monitor recovery progress and client outcomes.
- Alumni support: A free aftercare program is available to clients who complete treatment. It includes an indefinite alumni membership that supports clients through weekly alumni meetings offered both in person and on Zoom, monthly events and outings, access to the CaredFor recovery app, and continued check-ins and staff support.

While they encouraged speaking directly with the prospective client to complete an assessment, they were upfront about what to expect and made it easy to learn more about the program.
