Rural Campus With Daily Structure

Conewago Place provides 24/7 residential care for men 18 and older on a wooded, 12-acre campus in Hummelstown, Pennsylvania. The licensed program emphasizes steady routines with daily groups, individual counseling, and peer support, offering a focused setting away from distractions.

Medications and Evidence-Based Therapies

Care may include medications for addiction treatment (MAT), such as buprenorphine or naltrexone for opioid use disorder and acamprosate, disulfiram, or naltrexone for alcohol use disorder, paired with counseling. Core approaches include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational enhancement, trauma therapy and education, relapse-prevention work, and daily in-house 12-step meetings with regular access to community meetings. Tobacco recovery groups and nicotine-replacement options are available. If detox is needed first, staff provide referral support.

Life Skills, Certifications, and Vocational Support

Programming links treatment to everyday stability. Clients take life-skills classes, earn ServSafe and First Aid/CPR certifications, build résumés, conduct real-time job searches, and use a computer lab for education and employment tasks. Staff assist with vital documents such as birth certificates, photo IDs, and Social Security cards, to reduce barriers after discharge. Creative and recreational outlets include art and music therapy, gardening and landscaping, and outdoor spaces for softball, basketball, volleyball, and horseshoes.

Family Connection, Aftercare, and Practical Supports

Thirty-minute virtual family visits help maintain connection during treatment. Discharge planning starts early and includes aftercare/continuing care, naloxone and overdose education, and follow-up after discharge. Practical supports can include transportation assistance, housing services, mentoring and peer support, help with social services, and employment counseling or training.
