Full Continuum of Care

Pocono Mountain offers medical withdrawal management (detox), residential treatment, partial hospitalization (PHP), intensive outpatient (IOP), and regular outpatient sessions, along with connections to sober living. Having all of these step-down care levels at one location means less disruptions and greater continuity of treatment as clients progress or experience setbacks in their recovery.

Collaboration with a Multidisciplinary Team

Care is adapted to individual needs and goals, and clients are fully involved in how their treatment plans start and unfold. The team includes doctors and nurses who see to withdrawal management and other medical needs, as well as psychiatrists who treat clients with co-occurring mental health conditions. Therapists lead both individual and group sessions. Case managers are available to help clients with practical needs such as finding stable housing and connecting to support groups.

12-Step, Evidence-Based, and Holistic Therapies

Programs are based around a strong 12-step philosophy. Clients attend meetings such as Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and Narcotics Anonymous (NA) as an integral part of care. Therapists also use evidence-based methods including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and motivational interviewing (MI). These are blended with holistic approaches like mindfulness, meditation, yoga, and art therapy.

Aftercare and Alumni Program

Before formal treatment ends, staff work with clients to create discharge plans that will fit their needs. This can include relapse prevention planning, connections to community resources, referrals to outside therapy or mental health support, and help finding local 12-step meetings. To stay close to peers long-term, clients can participate in an alumni community that organizes meet-ups and events.

Pre-Admissions Experience

We conducted a series of pre-admissions calls, the most recent on May 21, 2026, to evaluate response time, transparency, and patient experience.

When we reached out to Pocono Mountain Recovery Center, the admissions team was prompt and professional. They walked us through program basics, care levels, and the treatment team. The conversation felt straightforward and the representative was helpful, though the answers they gave were not overly detailed.
