Stabilization and care transitions

At the start of treatment, each client’s needs are determined through a clinical assessment. This allows care plans to be adapted to individual medical requirements, goals, and struggles. During withdrawal management (detox), medical staff watch clients 24/7 to make sure they are safe and as comfortable as possible, with MAT prescribed as appropriate. Once clients are stable, they can transition directly to residential care without interruption. Once clients graduate, staff can help them transfer to outpatient programs such as partial hospitalization (PHP) and inpatient outpatient (IOP).

Trauma, mental health, and genetic testing

Along with substance use, the facility addresses trauma, including PTSD, and co-occurring mental health conditions such as anxiety, depression, and bipolar disorder. Therapies like eye movement desensitization EMDR) and reprocessing are available to help treat trauma symptoms. The Haven Detox New Jersey also offers GeneSight testing. This process can help clinicians zero in on the medications most likely to treat individual mental health conditions. Staff are trained in caring for the unique needs of veterans and active-duty service members.

Tranquil rural campus

Clients stay on a private, 180-acre wooded campus, which can create a more peaceful setting for recovery. There is plenty of outdoor space and recreation areas such as a game room and sports amenities to unwind during downtime. Transportation pick-up assistance is offered so clients can get to rehab safely.

Aftercare and lifetime recovery support

Before clients leave treatment, they work with staff to create a personalized relapse-prevention plan. This is designed to address triggers, provide coping strategies, and offer connections to community support resources. Clients also become part of the free, lifetime Haven Alumni Program, which involves weekly virtual meetings, peer check-ins, and sober social events. These services help clients stay connected with a long-term recovery network and engage in mutual accountability.

Pre-admissions experience

We conducted a series of pre-admissions calls, the most recent on April 13, 2026, to evaluate response time, transparency, and patient experience.

When we reached out to Haven Health Management, the admissions representative was responsive and knowledgeable. The call felt helpful and supportive, though the details provided were more broad and less facility specific.
