Step-down outpatient treatment

Clients can start care in PHP or IOP, depending on their needs. They can also step up or down between levels based on recovery progress or setbacks. Staff can connect clients to nearby transitional housing, or clients can live at home while receiving care. Programs are designed to allow clients to maintain their outside responsibilities during treatment, including work, school, family, and other personal aspects of day-to-day life.

Accessible residential neighborhood

The two-story, home-like facility is set in a residential neighborhood close to downtown San Jose. The area is walkable and accessible by car, as well as by Caltrain, Amtrak, and ACE trains. Surrounded by cafés, parks, and other amenities, clients can enjoy the area before, after, and between clinical sessions.

Personalized treatment plans and relationship-building

Programs are adapted and shaped to fit each client’s unique recovery needs and goals, including any co-occurring mental health conditions and concerns. Care embodies an attachment-based approach focused on healing relationships. Along with individual and group therapies, family therapy is offered so loved ones can reconnect and repair interpersonal strain. This includes the internal family systems (IFS) approach. Patterns and habits at the root of substance use, as well as underlying trauma, are addressed so clients can start to live healthier lives.

Aftercare and alumni support

Relapse prevention and life skills training are a core part of treatment to ensure clients are prepared for independent living once they complete the program. Alumni have continued access to clinical resources, and staff check in on them to make sure their recovery is progressing.
