Accessible, Community-Based Treatment

CAAP, Inc. delivers coordinated care for adults with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions. Founded in 1989, this Memphis nonprofit operates in an accessible urban location, its central setting and transportation assistance help remove barriers to consistent care.

Residential, Outpatient, and Detox Services

The residential program provides up to six months of structured living, daily counseling, relapse prevention, and life skills training like budgeting and problem-solving. Job placement, vocational training, and GED preparation help clients work toward independence. Outpatient and intensive outpatient services offer flexible morning and evening sessions with ongoing monitoring for up to two years. Medically supervised detox addresses alcohol, opioids, cocaine, methamphetamines, and benzodiazepines.

Medication-Assisted and Specialized Programs

As part of Tennessee’s State Opioid Response initiative, CAAP offers medications for addiction treatment (MAT) with buprenorphine and naltrexone, combined with counseling and case management. Specialized services support veterans, women, justice-involved clients, and those affected by trauma, homelessness, or domestic violence. Programs are available in English and Spanish, with sign language interpretation as needed.

Housing and Recovery Support

CAAP operates targeted housing initiatives, including the Homeless Veterans Transitional Housing Program, Uptown Manor for low-income seniors, and Place of Hope for individuals with disabilities. Recovery services extend beyond treatment through peer mentoring, self-help groups, transportation assistance, and housing support.

Focus on Long-Term Stability

Continuity of care includes discharge planning, overdose education, and follow-up support. By integrating treatment with social services and skill-building, CAAP helps clients establish stability, self-sufficiency, and lasting recovery within their communities.
