Developing your care plan

• Initial screening: Clients undergo an admission screening with a registered nurse or therapist to make sure the program is the right fit.
• Treatment planning: Individualized care planning may include daily counseling and working with case managers or social workers on discharge needs.

Who you will meet with

• Nurses and nurse practitioners: The nursing team provides support during residential treatment, including during the withdrawal management process.
• Psychiatrists: Clients with mental health concerns alongside substance use can receive psychiatric support.
• Counselors and therapists: These professionals work with clients to address substance use and emotional challenges in daily individual and group counseling.
• Caseworkers and social workers: Caseworkers and social workers help clients navigate practical concerns and prepare for next steps after discharge.

Typical schedule

• A regular daily routine: Clients have daily individual and group counseling sessions. Meals, medical and mental health support, and care coordination are also included, as well as art-based activities and smoke breaks.

Living experiences and amenities

• Short-term residential treatment with a focus on stabilization: CarePoint Response focuses on community crisis response and medically supported stabilization.

Aftercare

• A short-term stay with a focus on discharge planning: Care coordinators help determine the next appropriate treatment step. The facility also follows up with clients 30 days after discharge.

Pre-admissions experience

We conducted a series of pre-admissions calls, the most recent on November 2, 2026, to evaluate response time, transparency, and patient experience.

We spoke with a representative from CarePoint Response and found them to be informative, knowledgeable, and direct. They were transparent about the facility not taking cash-paying clients and that admissions to the program are strictly for individuals who are uninsured or have state-issued insurance, such as Medicaid or Medicare.
