Detox and Residential Care
Medical withdrawal management (detox) is available as a first step for those who need it. This is supervised 24/7 by nurses, with optional medications for addiction treatment (MAT) to ease withdrawal symptoms and cravings. Once stabilized, clients can transition directly into residential treatment at the same facility. This phase involves daily group therapy and individual therapy sessions approximately twice a week. Psychiatrists are on-site to provide care for clients with co-occurring mental health conditions.
12-Step and Evidence-Based Therapies
Twelve-step work is foundational to White Deer Run’s treatment plans. This includes peer recovery meetings including Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and Narcotics Anonymous (NA), along with education on 12-step principles. This is paired with evidence-based therapies including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing, relapse prevention counseling, and trauma-informed therapy.
Optional Christian Recovery Track
Clients who want a Christian-centered approach to treatment can choose to participate in faith-based programming. This includes Bible study and other spiritual components such as lectures and education sessions. This recovery track is held alongside evidence-based therapy and 12-step meetings.
Holistic Techniques
Several holistic and creative therapies are offered to complement clinical care. These include massage treatments and yoga, as well as art and music therapy. Drum circles are also held for those that want to participate.
Aftercare and Step-Down Options
Discharge planning begins early in treatment. Staff work with clients to make long-term plans for recovery success that align with personal goals and struggles. This can include setting up stable housing, help with navigating social services, and referrals to outside counseling and mental health support. For clients moving on to outpatient care, White Deer Run has nearby facilities with partial hospitalization (PHP) and intensive outpatient programs (IOP) within the same network.
