Apartment-Style Living With Community Access

Step Toward Success provides reintegration housing in apartments located across Buffalo, Lockport, and Niagara Falls. Residents share two- or three-bedroom homes with individual bedrooms and nearby access to schools, hospitals, shopping, and public transportation. Select apartments are available for parents with a preschool-age child, helping families maintain stability while in recovery.

Wraparound Care That Builds Independence

The program offers individual and group counseling, relapse prevention, and case management. Residents are also connected to outpatient treatment, primary and specialty medical care, mental health services, and education or vocational programs. Telehealth options are available, making it easier for participants to stay engaged in services.

Trauma-Informed and Person-Centered

All services are rooted in trauma-informed care that emphasizes safety, trust, and empowerment. Residents set personal recovery goals and select groups that match their needs. Lengths of stay are flexible, ranging from a few weeks to several months, depending on each person’s progress and circumstances. The program accepts residents who are prescribed medications for addiction treatment (MAT) by outside providers.

Preparing for Lasting Stability

Beyond clinical care, residents can access housing support, self-help groups, social services, employment counseling, and life-skills education. The program serves diverse populations, including veterans, older adults, and people with co-occurring conditions or trauma histories. Operated by nonprofit Cazenovia Recovery Systems, Step Toward Success focuses on practical skills and connections that help residents transition into independent living with greater confidence and stability.
