Oceanfront Setting with a Non-12-Step Approach

Set on the Malibu coast, the residential program uses a non-12-step model that focuses on connection and collaboration rather than strict rules or confrontation. Clients work with a dedicated team and are encouraged to act as the leader of their care, helping shape goals, therapies, and daily structure. Evidence-based therapies and holistic activities are tailored to each person’s needs, allowing adults to explore the underlying reasons for substance use while practicing new coping skills in a calm environment.

Withdrawal Management (Detox) and Residential Care with Evidence-Based Therapies

Clients can start with withdrawal management and continue into short- or longer-term residential care. Treatment uses evidence-based approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, trauma-focused counseling, and relapse prevention, offered in both individual and group settings. For alcohol and opioid use disorders, medications for addiction treatment (MAT) can be combined with therapy, alongside medication support for mental health conditions when needed.

Professional Executive Program

The Professional Executive Program is designed for leaders, entrepreneurs, and other working professionals who need intensive residential treatment without fully stepping away from their careers. Within a small, private setting, clients can stay appropriately connected to essential work responsibilities while focusing on substance use and co-occurring mental health concerns. Treatment addresses chronic stress, burnout, perfectionism, and relationship strain, with therapy exploring work-life boundaries, leadership pressures, and family dynamics.

Holistic Therapies and Brain-Based Treatments

Alongside talk therapy, clients can participate in experiential and holistic services such as equine programming, surfing, yoga, meditation, and sound baths, as well as the Equine Vision Ride. These offerings can make it easier to manage stress, reconnect with the body, and practice new coping strategies in real time. Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) is available for treatment-resistant depression and other mental health needs, especially for clients who have not found enough relief with prior approaches.

Aftercare Planning

Planning for life after residential care begins early in the stay. Case management, housing and transportation assistance, and help accessing social services or employment support as needed aim to reduce practical barriers that can derail progress. Discharge planning, overdose education and naloxone training, outcome follow-up, and alumni-style and aftercare support help clients stay connected to resources and community as they return home.

Client Reviews

Recent reviews describe generally positive experiences with staff, treatment, and the setting, along with some concerns about medication management, insurance communication, and how policies are applied.

  • Treatment Quality & Outcomes (90% positive): Many clients and families report meaningful improvements in their recovery and mental health and say they leave with practical tools. A smaller number wish the treatment structure and relapse-prevention planning were more consistent. "This place changed my life."
  • Staff & Care Experience (95% positive): Most reviewers describe staff as caring, respectful, and relatable, and note that they feel listened to and supported during difficult moments. Some mention feeling dismissed or issues with policy enforcement. "The staff are amazing and their program is far better than anywhere else I have been."
  • Facility & Environment (90% positive): Many people say the homes feel comfortable and peaceful, with common areas and meals that support day-to-day living. A few felt the expectations set before admission did not fully match what they experienced on site. "The atmosphere is calming, the attention is personal, and they don’t just talk about healing — they make it possible."
  • Support & Community (80% positive): Reviewers often highlight the value of the peer community, alumni connections, and opportunities for family to be involved, saying this helped them feel less isolated. Some would like to see more structured relapse-prevention and aftercare options. "More than just a treatment center, it's a community of smart, compassionate, authentic people."
