Peer-Led Structure with Firsthand Experience
The owners of the facility, and many staff members, are individuals who are themselves in long-term recovery. Both co-founders live on-site and participate in daily programming. This firsthand experience shapes every aspect of the facility’s culture—from the way staff relate to residents, to how accountability and trust are built. Clients are supported by people who understand the challenges of early recovery not just professionally, but personally. This peer-led model helps residents feel seen and supported while building confidence through shared experience and honest feedback.
Emphasis on Community Connection
The center and its residents are deeply embedded and involved in the local community. The homes are located in a residential Baltimore neighborhood, within walking distance of public bus routes, local businesses, and a farmers market. As part of their residential stay, clients build routines and stability through structured schedules, household responsibilities, group meetings, and between five and eight hours of individual counseling each week.
Built for Medicaid and Medicare Clients
This facility exclusively serves adult men with Maryland Medicaid or Medicare, offering a structured, high-support environment without requiring private insurance or self-pay. The program includes case management, life skills training, and strong peer mentorship. Staff coordinate care with external providers for each client. Discharge planning begins early, and follow-up support continues after residents leave. This model makes sustained recovery possible for clients who often face limited access to long-term, community-based care.
12-Step Integration During and After Care
Twelve-step participation is a core part of both daily structure and long-term recovery planning. During residential care, clients attend regular 12-step meetings, including options in the evenings and on weekends, and engage in peer-led discussions that reinforce step-based principles. The program emphasizes continued involvement after discharge, with many alumni staying active in local meetings and returning to support new residents. This ongoing connection to the 12-step community provides a consistent framework for accountability, and support—helping individuals maintain recovery momentum and build lasting relationships.
Case Management Focused on Stability Beyond Treatment
Each client receives support in obtaining identification, securing employment, applying for benefits, and navigating housing resources. Staff help clients build essential life skills while maintaining accountability through regular check-ins and progress reviews. This practical, person-centered approach is designed to remove barriers that often contribute to relapse, empowering clients to take meaningful steps toward long-term independence. Case management is integrated into each phase of the program and continues to play a role during aftercare.
What Residents Are Saying
Patient reviews consistently highlight the supportive culture and personal investment of staff. Many share stories of entering the program with little hope and leaving with jobs, stability, and a renewed sense of self-worth. The consistent praise for staff involvement—especially from those who now work at the facility—underscores the deep impact this community has on long-term recovery.
