Residential Treatment Where Families Can Stay Together
Residential stays typically range from 30–90 days, allowing enough time to build routines, practice skills, and prepare for life after treatment. Mothers can bring their children to live with them on site. Residential beds for children, safe visitor policies, and on-site childcare help women stay engaged in treatment without the fear of losing custody or disrupting their children’s stability.
Care for Pregnant Women and Parents
The program specializes in serving adult women, including pregnant and postpartum clients and mothers with young children. Care is trauma-informed, gender-responsive, and culture-informed. Services address parenting needs alongside recovery goals, with family therapy, parenting support, and opportunities for family reunification. This environment allows women to participate fully in treatment while maintaining their role as parents and building confidence in their caregiving abilities.
Integrated Treatment for Substance Use and Mental Health
Kindred House treats a wide range of substance use disorders alongside co-occurring mental health conditions and trauma-related symptoms. Treatment includes individual, group, and family counseling using evidence-based therapies and 12-step work. This integrated model helps women address the emotional, behavioral, and environmental factors that contribute to substance use.
MAT and Medical Services
The facility offers a broad range of medications for addiction treatment (MAT) to help ease withdrawal symptoms and cravings. The program also accepts women who are receiving medications prescribed elsewhere and can manage ongoing medication needs during treatment. Clients also have access to medications for mental health conditions. On-site health screenings include HIV, hepatitis B and C, tuberculosis, metabolic health, pregnancy testing, and STI testing.
Practical Support
Case managers assist women with securing benefits, support access to food, transportation, and childcare, and connect clients with housing resources. Social skills development, mentoring, and peer support help women rebuild confidence and community. Domestic violence services are offered to address safety concerns that may affect treatment progress. Clients can also access self-help groups and spiritual or church-based support if desired.
