A Humble, Home-Like Setting

Treatment takes place in residential homes that are intentionally kept small and personal, designed for a close-knit and supportive atmosphere. Bedrooms are private or shared, and clients gather in shared kitchens and outdoor spaces that include a pool, fireplace, and backyard. Meals are prepared and eaten together, reinforcing a sense of routine. The setting is modest and comfortable, providing clients with a place that feels familiar. This approach helps reduce the isolation many feel in treatment and instead creates a community where recovery is lived out daily.

12-Step and Spiritual Support

Clients have the option to strengthen their recovery through 12-Step meetings and spiritual guidance. On-site groups introduce clients to Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and Narcotics Anonymous (NA), while staff facilitate reflection and discussion around principles like accountability, humility, and service. For those who wish, pastoral counseling and guided prayer are available alongside evidence-based therapies. Shared readings, evening reflections, and community meals often include space for gratitude or spiritual connection. This approach provides clients with both peer accountability and faith-informed support, helping them ground recovery in practices that resonate with their values.

Community and Real-World Guidance

Community is central to the recovery approach. Clients not only attend group counseling and peer support meetings, but also take part in day-to-day responsibilities like cooking, cleaning, and maintaining the home. Adventure therapy brings groups outdoors for hiking, fishing, or paddleboarding, activities that replace old habits with healthier ways to cope. Employment counseling and job training prepare clients to re-enter the workforce. Housing support is offered when needed to help clients find stability after discharge.

Preparing for Life After Treatment

From early on in treatment, clients begin planning for life beyond residential care. Discharge planning includes overdose prevention and naloxone education, relapse-prevention strategies, and connections to community resources. Clients may step down into outpatient or intensive outpatient care, or continue therapy through telehealth for flexibility. Alumni can return for support groups and recovery coaching. This emphasis on aftercare means clients don’t face recovery alone once treatment ends. Instead, they leave with a plan, a network of peers, and the skills needed to keep building purpose in everyday life.
