12-Step Support and Peer Mentorship

The center incorporates 12-step principles into its treatment model, offering regular Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and Narcotics Anonymous (NA) meetings that encourage structure, accountability, and community. Peer mentorship plays a key role. Clients are paired with others who are further along in their recovery to provide guidance, encouragement, and support through lived experience. This peer-based approach helps clients stay engaged and build confidence and coping strategies based on mutual trust and shared progress.

Experienced Multidisciplinary Care Team

The dedicated care team includes board-certified doctors, nurses, counselors, dieticians, and support staff with hands-on experience in substance use and mental health treatment. Registered nurses are available 24/7 to provide care, and medical staff perform assessments, evaluations, and diagnoses of potential co-occurring conditions. The team works collaboratively to deliver structured, person-centered care, with consistent check-ins, trauma-informed support, and a strong emphasis on communication through each phase of treatment.

Week-Long Family Education Program

For families and loved ones, the center offers a structured, week‑long Family Education Program. After a client spends five days in residential care, families can join daily sessions that begin with a 30‑minute educational discussion followed by a 60‑minute supervised visitation. Participants learn about addiction as a disease, healthy communication, family dynamics, relapse prevention, and how to build lasting support networks. Visitation is tied to attendance and requires guests to be approved by the client. Three family members can visit at a time.

Dual Diagnosis and Trauma-Informed Treatment

Integrated care is provided for clients facing both substance use and mental health conditions. Treatment combines evidence-based and trauma-informed therapies to help clients address the emotional and psychological roots of addiction. Individual and group sessions create space to process past experiences while building coping skills in a safe, supportive environment. The program is designed to help clients stabilize, heal, and prepare for lasting recovery.

Patient Reviews: Honest Praise and Constructive Critique

Veritas is often described by past clients as a place where “the staff truly cares.” The praise centers on the sincerity and approachability of staff, especially for clients who may feel judged or dismissed elsewhere. Family members echo this sentiment, noting how included and informed they felt during their loved one’s stay. Common areas for improvement include wait times for psychiatric evaluations, food variety and quality, and bedroom amenities. While not insignificant, these factors are often outweighed by the strength of clinical and emotional support.
