Onsite Medical and Dental Services

One of the program’s defining features is its onsite licensed primary medical and dental clinics, allowing men to address routine healthcare needs without leaving treatment. Medical staff provide physical health checkups, dental care, and medications for addiction treatment (MAT). Men also engage in regular counseling sessions — both individual and group — alongside cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, trauma-specific therapy, and anger management.

Education, Employment, and Housing Coordination

During treatment, men have the option to pursue Adult Basic Education or prepare for High School Equivalency exams. Job training and employment assistance help clients practice interviewing, identify strengths, and explore vocational pathways. Staff also support men in locating safe housing — whether community residences, independent apartments, or skilled nursing facilities for those with medical needs. Discharge planning begins early, helping clients build a foundation for lasting stability in areas like work, education, and income.

Wellness, Fitness, and Creative Arts

Wellness is woven into everyday life through fitness and nutrition programming. Men can use a gym, join organized activities such as basketball, yoga, Pilates, or softball, and participate in the Run for Your Life program — regular walks and runs in Central Park that encourage routine, endurance, and stress relief. Onsite nutrition classes and healthy meals support physical rebuilding after periods of substance use. An Expressive Arts Studio gives men a creative outlet and opportunities to build connections.

Support for Life After Treatment

Near the end of a client’s stay, staff help map out next steps in their recovery. Men receive guidance on linking to outpatient counseling, peer support networks, and community-based services that can offer stability during the transition home. This approach reduces the pressure of navigating post-treatment decisions alone and helps clients maintain routines, structure, and support systems that make long-term recovery more attainable.
