Short-Term Stabilization in a Supportive Setting
Fairview Recovery Services’ Residential Stabilization program provides 24/7 residential care in a safe, structured environment in downtown Binghamton. Designed for adults experiencing withdrawal, cravings, or acute mental health symptoms, the program focuses on medical and emotional stabilization that can be safely managed in a residential setting. The average stay is about 28 days, with treatment plans tailored to each person’s progress and needs.
Evidence-Based Care and Medications for Recovery
Clinical and medical staff provide individualized care supported by evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, trauma-informed counseling, and 12-step facilitation. When appropriate, medications for addiction treatment (MAT) are used to ease withdrawal symptoms and support recovery. These may include buprenorphine or naltrexone for opioid use disorder, and acamprosate, disulfiram, or naltrexone for alcohol use disorder. Individual and group therapy sessions help clients develop coping strategies and prepare for the next phase of treatment.
Practical Supports That Strengthen Recovery
Fairview Recovery Services recognizes that stability extends beyond treatment. Clients receive access to practical supports that promote long-term recovery, including case management, recovery coaching, and transportation assistance. The program also offers education, employment counseling, and vocational training to help clients rebuild stability and independence. Integrated primary care and mental health services, along with health and tobacco cessation education, further support whole-person wellness. Adults and young adults of all genders are welcome, with accommodations for individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing. Smoking and vaping are not permitted.
Preparing for What Comes Next
From admission through discharge, Fairview helps each client plan their next steps in recovery. The team coordinates referrals to ongoing treatment or recovery housing and provides discharge planning that includes aftercare connections, relapse prevention, and naloxone education. Referrals are accepted from individuals, treatment providers, legal and social service agencies, ensuring accessible pathways to stabilization and recovery for people throughout Broome County.
