Detox and withdrawal support

The facility provides onsite detox for alcohol, opioids, benzodiazepines, kratom, and stimulants. Clients in detox are monitored by healthcare professionals 24 hours a day. Each withdrawal management plan starts with an assessment of physical and mental health needs. Medications for addiction treatment may include buprenorphine for opioid use. Counseling is also available during this time to support clients with the emotional side of withdrawal and help them prepare for continued treatment.

Residential treatment

Upon completing detox, clients may continue into structured residential treatment with a shorter-term program lasting 28 to 35 days on average, with longer-term residential options available. The facility treats substance use and co-occurring mental health concerns. Care may include individual therapy, process therapy, trauma therapy groups, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), solution-focused therapy, and psychodynamic therapy (a form of depth talk therapy). Clients also have access to life skills and relapse prevention programming to help them prepare for life after formal care.

Daily life and amenities

Clients may have access to indoor and outdoor recreation, fitness activities, meditation, gardening, art therapy, and a library. Community activities may include games, sports, and crafts during recreational downtime. Meals are catered, and clients have access to gluten-free, vegetarian, vegan, and allergy-related food accommodations. Computer stations are on site to help clients work on employment-related tasks during treatment.

Aftercare and practical support

Aftercare may include a supportive housing community, alumni programming, and additional events intended to help clients stay connected once they have completed formal treatment. Family involvement may be available during care to help clients strengthen support at home and work on personal relationships. The facility may also support clients with case management, peer recovery support, transportation, and help locating supportive housing.

Spiritual and inclusive care

Spiritual activities at the facility are optional. Clients may choose to take part in prayer groups or work with local religious leaders from different faith backgrounds. LGBTQ+ inclusive practices may include all-gender bathrooms and living quarters, use of preferred pronouns, staff training, and supportive policies.

How we research treatment facilities

Across the site, our team has conducted over 1,000 pre-admissions calls to better understand the patient experience, interviewed facility clinical leaders, performed facility background checks, and compared our information against trusted public data sources.

Our research process begins with data from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), accrediting bodies including The Joint Commission and CARF, government licensing agencies, and other trusted sources. From there, our team conducts significant original research, including:

- Pre-admissions calls: We speak with admissions staff to get a candid picture of patient experience.

- Background checks: We review complaints from past clients, media reports, actions taken by accrediting bodies, and positive recognition from notable organizations.

- Clinical interviews: We have in-depth conversations with clinical leadership, often lasting up to one hour, that give us a better understanding of clinical care.

- Data partnerships: We ingest and analyze exclusive data that provides information about in-network insurance status, cost, and more.

Research varies by facility. Each facility profile shows which research steps we completed and when each step was last performed. Learn more about our research process and background checks.

How we evaluate treatment facilities

These data help us develop a Trust Score for each facility—a simple letter grade that helps you assess how much confidence to place in a facility based on the information available to us. Trust Score considers accreditation, operating history, notable recognition, and concerns identified during our background check. Our Trust Score is an objective rating that is never influenced by advertiser payment. Learn more about our Trust Score methodology.
