Treatment for substance use disorders and co-occurring disorders

River Point provides integrated treatment for substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions (formerly called "dual diagnosis"). Treatments are available across multiple levels of care, from hospital-based medical detox and inpatient rehabilitation to PHP and IOP. Discharge planning begins on the first day of treatment, so clients follow a clear transition through various levels of care as they prepare to return to daily living.

Specialized therapies not commonly found in the same place

River Point offers various specialized treatments. Clients who are experiencing symptoms of co-occurring mental health conditions, such as treatment-resistant depression or trauma, or have found standard treatment approaches unsuccessful in the past may qualify for specialized therapies that include inpatient or outpatient ECT, outpatient TMS, and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR).

Programs designed specifically for active-duty

service members and veterans

Called the Freedom Track, these dedicated PHP and IOP schedules provide structured treatment while allowing service members to maintain some of their daily responsibilities. The program is led by a multidisciplinary team experienced with military-related mental health concerns. This program may use various approaches, including EMDR, family education, relapse prevention, and expressive therapies (recreation, music, and art). Group topics focus on challenges that are unique to this population, like post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), resilience training, and military-specific triggers and stressors.

Treatment across the lifespan

Rather than adapting treatment designed for adults to younger populations, River Point offers dedicated programs for children (ages 5–10) and adolescents (ages 11–17). Families are encouraged to participate in treatment, and the facility offers family therapy. Adolescent treatment programs provide access to an on-site pool.
