A nonprofit detox with walk-in availability

Gateway offers detox that combines medical and clinical care for drug and alcohol withdrawal. Services are available for adults and adolescents, with care provided around the clock. Walk-in detox is available daily from 10 a.m.–1 a.m the following morning.

Residential care for adults, adolescents, and women with children

Highly structured residential treatment is available for adolescents, adults, and women with children. Programming follows a 12-Step model and includes individual and group therapy, family counseling, medication management, trauma counseling, co-occurring mental health care, community services, and continuing-care groups. There’s also a Kids’ Success Center, which provides daycare and learning opportunities for clients’ children from birth through age 12. The facility also offers school transportation for kids ages 5–11.

Adolescent residential treatment with continuing education

Programs at the Boys Recovery Center and Girls Recovery Center provide care tailored to adolescents. A Duval County school program operates on campus so teens can continue their education in a program tailored to their needs. School staff at the facility coordinate with each teen’s existing school to help prevent an interruption in education. Teen programming also incorporates 12-Step activities, individual and group therapy, family counseling, trauma counseling, medication management, and continuing-care groups.

Flexible outpatient services

At its Stockton Street location, Gateway offers various levels of outpatient care. Clients can participate in individual therapy or attend outpatient groups one to three times per week. Evening programming is also available. This option can be beneficial for clients who need ongoing support while working or going to school. There are also outpatient options for adolescents, allowing them to live at home while receiving treatment.

Practical support beyond therapy

Gateway provides a broad range of support services. Case management can help with transportation, housing, and employment counseling or training. Family and couples counseling are also available, as well as peer and recovery coaching.
