What to expect

Developing your care plan

• Assessment and intake: Prior to determining placement during admission, clients undergo an assessment that takes their medical and substance use history into account, as well as their mental health, relapse risk, and recovery environment. This helps guide the appropriate level of care and treatment recommendations.
• Individualized treatment planning: All care plans are individualized. Plans are created after the assessments are complete and based on a client's medical history, mental health, substance use history, needs, and recovery goals.

Who you will meet with

• Medical providers and nursing staff: Medical doctors, psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, and registered nurses are available to help clients during detox, manage their medications, and support mental health and physical needs. During detox, nursing staff are available 24/7.
• Therapists and counselors: Licensed therapists, counselors, social workers, and peer support staff provide individual therapy, group counseling, family therapy, relapse prevention, and continued recovery support.
• Recovery support and case management staff: Clients may also work with case managers, client care staff, nutrition professionals, and alumni coordinators. These individuals support treatment coordination, nutritional needs, and discharge and aftercare services.

Typical schedule

• Treatment programming and recovery support: Evidence-based care, such as, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, trauma-focused counseling, and relapse prevention is available for clients to take part in. Specialized programming is in place to support military personnel, veterans and first responders.
• Whole-person treatment: Clients receive care for mental health alongside substance-use treatment. Additionally, holistic and whole-person treatment may include yoga, massage therapy, meditation, and art therapy. IV therapy is available during detox.

Living experiences and amenities

• Comfort-focused residential environment: Care takes place in a hotel-like setting with clients having access to modern, furnished rooms with queen-sized beds and flat-screen TVs.
• Amenities: Amenities include chef-prepared meals, a fitness center, pickleball courts, basketball court, recreation areas, outdoor lounge spaces, walking trails, and nearby beach access.

Aftercare

• Discharge planning and continued care: Case managers help clients with discharge planning, continuing care plans, coordinating step-down treatment, and connecting individuals to recovery support.
• Recovery support and community resources: When treatment is completed, clients stay connected to the recovery community through aftercare group therapy, alumni coordinators, and alumni events. Recovery coaching, housing assistance, peer recovery support, employment resources, and naloxone education may also be available.
