Men’s Long-Term Sober Living
Cambridge Recovery Sober Living is a men-only, long-term sober living home in a residential area of northern New Jersey. It is designed as a bridge between structured treatment and fully independent life. Typical stays of about six months give men time to settle into stable routines, share space with a small group of peers, and adjust to living substance-free in a real-world setting.
12-Step Structure And Co-Occurring Mental Health Support
The program follows a 12-step–oriented model, with men encouraged to find sponsors, do step work, and attend in-house recovery meetings. For men living with both substance use and co-occurring mental health concerns, staff provide referrals to outside intensive outpatient programs (IOP), partial hospitalization programs (PHP), therapists, psychiatrists, and primary care. The home accepts residents who receive medications for addiction treatment (MAT) for opioid or alcohol use disorders from outside prescribers.
Daily Life, Accountability, And Amenities
Life in the house blends structure with growing independence. Clear house rules and case management services help men stay accountable and engaged in recovery. At the same time, shared rooms, common spaces, and community-based living encourage peer support. Amenities include high-speed internet, flat-screen TVs, an Xbox, a pool table, in-house holistic activities, and a recreation room. Nightly dinners, healthy and vegan-friendly options, towels and linens, a fully equipped kitchen, and on-site washer and dryer help the house feel home-like.
Building Skills For Work, School, And Family Life
Programming focuses on helping residents prepare for life beyond the house. Life-skills development includes goal-setting and resume-building workshops, employment support services, and opportunities connected to collegiate recovery. Social skills development, family-oriented activities, and suicide prevention services support residents as they rebuild relationships and expand their support network. Nearby walking trails, outdoor space, and access to nature, along with activities like hiking and biking, offer additional outlets for stress relief and recreation.
