Who is this facility a good fit for?

  • Not a fit if: Men, as the program is for women only; women seeking 24-hour on-site residential care; women seeking residential treatment.

What to expect

Developing your care plan

  • First steps: Treatment begins with an assessment that looks at each client’s history, needs, and background. Clinicians use this information to determine the approach to treatment for each client.
  • A collaborative approach: Clients work with the care team to develop their own treatment plan. They can question any part of it or make suggestions or recommendations.
  • Regular reassessments: Clients work with their clinical team to revisit their care plans regularly and make changes as they progress.

Who you will meet with

  • Licensed therapists: Licensed therapists guide individual and group therapy sessions and are a part of the ongoing care team.
  • Psychiatrist: Clients meet with a psychiatrist a minimum of once a week. Medication changes that require closer monitoring may necessitate more frequent appointments.
  • Case managers: Case managers coordinate outside medical care and provide significant discharge planning support. They also offer extensive practical support, like helping clients with resumes and job searches and assisting with housing needs.

Typical schedule

  • **Partial hospitalization program **: The PHP schedule is Monday–Friday, 9 a.m.–3 p.m. Clients participate in individual and group therapy and meet with the psychiatrist during this time. Meals are provided, and clients return home after treatment.
  • Intensive outpatient program: The IOP shares a similar structure with the PHP, but the days are shorter. This program is Monday–Friday, 9:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m. Clients attend three to five days a week, which gives them more free time in the afternoon to begin transitioning to life after treatment.
  • Outpatient program: How often clients attend outpatient treatment is generally determined by the client and the care team. They can attend one to five days a week or less as needed.
  • Virtual IOP: The virtual IOP follows the same hours as the in-person IOP. That said, daytime, evening, hybrid, and other options may also be available.

Living experiences and amenities

  • A welcoming space: This outpatient space is designed with soft textures, natural lighting, and decor so it feels less clinical.
  • Holistic experiences: Clients can participate in holistic and experiential activities. Some of these include equine therapy, adventure therapy, acupuncture, neurofeedback, mindfulness, and meditation. Nutritional support, including personal dietary recommendations, is also available.

Aftercare

  • Extensive case management: Case management includes support with practical needs, including creating a resume, applying for work, and assisting with housing. Case managers also help coordinate appointments for any physical health needs.
  • Built-in stepdown care: Clients can transition from the PHP to the IOP and then to outpatient treatment. Outpatient treatment can occur as often as the client and care team see fit and can be as infrequent as once a month.
  • Ongoing support: Sun County Wellness also offers lifetime aftercare and alumni support.
