Call602-755-4384 WebsiteVisit Website

Trauma-sensitive substance use and co-occurring mental health treatment in a luxury, small-group environment. Focus is placed on exploring inner child work and family systems. Only seven or eight clients are accepted at once, allowing for maximum personal attention. A full continuum of care includes medical withdrawal management (detox), residential, and outpatient programs with accompanying sober living. Clients have access to a pool, hot tub, and full gym, and can participate in somatic breathwork, cold plunge, equine therapy, and weekend outings. The program is mostly tech-free to encourage full immersion in recovery. This facility accepts private insurance, TRICARE, and self-pay.

Who is this facility a good fit for?

  • Best fit if: Adults looking for withdrawal management (detox), residential care, and step-down outpatient; want a luxury, home-like setting; more comfortable with a small program size; looking for a trauma-focused approach; have private insurance, TRICARE, or can self pay.

  • Not a fit if: Those who need acute, hospital-level treatment; not interested in structured programming and experiential therapies; want a self-directed approach; want to have unlimited use of personal devices; have Medicaid, or are uninsured and unable to self-pay.

What to expect

Typical schedule

  • Structured days: Every day of the residential program, clients wake up around 7:00 a.m., then after breakfast, participate in about five hours of clinical work; a combination of individual and group therapy, education, and wellness.
  • Evidence-based approaches: Therapists use CBT, DBT, motivational interviewing, Matrix Model, and relapse prevention with clients. The program also includes 12-step work.
  • Holistic methods: Equine therapy is offered so clients can bond with horses. Other approaches include neurofeedback, art therapy, neurofeedback, acupuncture, and yoga.
  • Trauma healing: A core tenet of Rock View Recovery’s perspective, trauma-focused care involves inner child work, somatic healing, emotional regulation practices, and an emphasis on connecting with a supportive community.
  • Weekends: On weekends, clients often go on group outings to places like museums and gardens. Loved ones can visit clients on Sundays.

Developing your care plan

  • Thorough assessments: Before starting treatment, clinicians interview potential clients about their history, including substance use, mental health, goals, and trauma experiences. When the client desires, family members can also participate in this process.
  • Adapted treatment: The care team, composed of medical professionals, a primary therapist, and the clinical director, creates a unique treatment plan for each client based on their assessment results and specific needs.
  • Tours: Taking a tour of the facility before making a final decision is encouraged to make sure it is the right fit.

Who you will meet with

  • Therapists: A primary therapist works with clients in focused one-on-one sessions. Other therapists clients will meet with include trauma specialists, art therapists, and equine therapists.
  • Psychiatrist: A psychiatrist and psychiatric nurse practitioner are on staff to oversee mental health care.
  • Medical staff: A doctor and nurses are available 24/7 to help clients through the withdrawal management stage.

Living experiences and amenities

  • Private home-like setting: Clients stay in an upscale, 8,000-square-foot home, with an average group size of seven or eight clients at a time. Bedrooms are shared with one other person.
  • Soothing accommodations: After therapy hours, clients can enjoy a swimming pool, hot tub, fitness center, and games such as billiards. There are also plenty of outdoor spaces with walking trails.
  • Tech policy: The facility embraces a technology-free policy, but clients can use their phones for an hour each day to stay in touch with personal and professional responsibilities.

Aftercare

  • Step-down care: Clients can move up or down between care levels at the same location — withdrawal management, residential, partial hospitalization (PHP), and intensive outpatient (IOP). Sober living accommodations are offered in tandem with PHP and IOP.
  • Alumni activities: Graduates of the program frequently get together for meet-ups and fun events, keeping people connected and accountable long-term.
