What to expect

Developing your care plan

  • Initial assessment: At the beginning of treatment, clients undergo an in-depth assessment that covers mental health history, substance use patterns, personal challenges, needs and preferences, and recovery goals. The outcomes of this assessment determine the direction for the client’s personalized care plan.
  • Personalized treatment planning: The client is an active participant in developing their treatment plan. Family and outside providers may take part in this process when determined to be appropriate. The client works directly with a case manager to establish goals, but the broader clinical team can collaborate on the client’s treatment plan as well. Goals can change during the client's stay, and progress is monitored through assessments and feedback from therapists and medical staff.

Who you will meet with

  • Clinical team: Master’s-level licensed therapists and counselors support clients during individual, group, and family therapy. Clients also have weekly visits with a clinical psychiatrist, receive a psychiatric evaluation during intake, and have access to medication management. Certified addiction specialists are also on staff and provide additional support.
  • Case management and recovery support: Case managers support clients and help prepare them for discharge by coordinating housing and sober living resources, addressing medical and legal needs, and providing connections to outside treatment providers and support groups. Relapse-prevention planning is also available.

Typical schedule

  • Daily routine: The daily rhythm for clients includes therapy sessions and group activities, meals and personal reflection time, practical and vocational life-skills development, and wellness activities.
  • Clinical treatment: Clinical treatment may include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), SMART Recovery, trauma-informed care, and relapse prevention. Clients may also have access to mindfulness, creative arts, faith-based counseling, and anger management.
  • Family involvement: Family therapy is available and is supported by a family liaison and case managers who coordinate family participation around treatment goals. Family updates and resources are also available, in addition to designated visitation opportunities.

Living experiences and amenities

  • Natural setting: The residential setting offers access to Ponderosa pines, lakes, mountains, and hiking trails. Clients can spend time outdoors and take part in voluntary activities such as hiking.
  • Meals and wellness: Meals and nutritional support are provided as part of residential treatment. Wellness activities can include yoga, mindfulness, creative arts, and other activities.

Aftercare

  • Continued recovery support: Upon completing residential treatment, clients have access to follow-up therapy, regular check-ins, support groups, recovery resources, and relapse-prevention support. Alumni programming is also available.
  • Step-down levels of care: Clients may transition to lower levels of care if needed. These include a partial hospitalization program (PHP), intensive outpatient program (IOP), and standard outpatient treatment. This is intended to support clients as they return to everyday responsibilities.
