Structured Housing With Accountability

Recovery Maine Inc - Innovation House offers state-licensed, abstinence-based housing for men seeking stability during substance use recovery. Residents live in a supervised home environment with clear expectations, 24-hour monitoring, random drug screening, and a zero-tolerance drug and alcohol policy. This structure helps create consistency and safety, allowing residents to focus on recovery while establishing daily routines that support long-term change.

Counseling and Peer-Based Recovery Support

The program integrates residential living with outpatient counseling, offering group and individual sessions during and after a resident’s stay. Peer connection is a central part of the experience, reinforced through onsite 12-step meetings and other support groups. Innovation House can also accommodate residents who are using medications for addiction treatment (MAT) when those medications are prescribed by an outside provider, helping ensure continuity of care without requiring medication changes.

Life Skills, Employment, and Family Education

Innovation House places emphasis on practical preparation for life after residential treatment. Career and education counseling supports residents with job planning, resume development, interview skills, and navigating education or training opportunities. Additional support is available for justice-involved individuals, including guidance toward employers open to hiring people with prior convictions. The program also offers education for family members and other affected individuals, helping them better understand substance use disorders, boundaries, and supportive — not enabling — ways to stay involved.

Transition Planning and Ongoing Connection

Planning for the next phase of recovery is built into the program experience. Discharge planning and continuing care help residents prepare for transitions out of housing with support in place. Ongoing services may include recovery coaching, peer mentoring, assistance accessing social services, housing support, transportation assistance, and overdose education with naloxone. These elements are intended to help residents leave Innovation House with clearer plans, stronger support networks, and tools to maintain progress over time.
