What to expect

Developing your care plan

• Initial assessment: Prior to admission, clients may undergo a comprehensive assessment that includes a medical history, physical exam, and screening for mental health and substance use concerns.
• A variety of treatment approaches: Treatment plans can vary depending on client needs. The Cynthia Day Family Center program may include individual and group counseling, relapse prevention, and MAT when clinically indicated. Clients can access integrated women’s health services as well as parenting education and support. Integrated mental health services are also available, including support for clients’ children.

Who you will meet with

• Licensed counselors: Therapists lead individual and group counseling sessions and may provide support to children of clients living at the facility.
• Licensed clinicians: Licensed practitioners manage MAT and provide primary care and physical health services.
• Recovery coaches: Recovery coaches and peer support are available through the broader Harbor Care organization.

Typical schedule

• Counseling and recovery work: Clients attend individual and group therapy and participate in other recovery work throughout the day.
• Balancing recovery and family: Childcare is provided for children while mothers participate in programming. Parenting education and support are integrated into treatment.

Living experiences and amenities

• A family-centered facility: Children up to age 12 can stay with their mothers onsite. Clients stay in private rooms, and bathroom essentials are provided.
• An in-house chef: All meals are prepared by an in-house chef.

Aftercare

• Peer support: Clients are connected with peer groups and more than 20 community recovery centers across New Hampshire.
• Additional services: Staff can help clients navigate treatment options after residential care as well as provide telephone support and educational opportunities.
