Trauma-Responsive Support for Complex Needs

Many clients arrive with multiple challenges at once, including substance use disorders, trauma, domestic violence, relationship stress, and conditions such as anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, or chronic stress. The women-only, trauma-responsive approach is designed to make it easier to talk about safety, parenting, pregnancy, partners, and other everyday life concerns. The center sits on a quiet, rural campus, allowing women to get time away from everyday stressors.

Whole-Person Services and Practical Life Skills

Daily care centers on individual and group counseling, substance use disorder counseling, and education about addiction and recovery. Clients can work on core living skills, including building healthy relationships, parenting skills, and planning for employment or a return to school. Because the program is part of The Providence Center, clients can be linked with wider supports such as housing resources, primary healthcare, job training, and legal assistance.

Medications for Addiction Treatment and Health Care Access

For women who benefit from medications as part of recovery, the program offers medications for addiction treatment (MAT) and medications for co-occurring mental health conditions. Clients receive substance use and mental health assessments and overdose education with naloxone, which can be especially important for women returning to communities with ongoing exposure to substances.

Planning for Life After Residential Care

From admission onward, staff focus on discharge planning and relapse-prevention skills. Recovery coaching, peer mentoring, and self-help groups help clients practice asking for support and staying connected to a recovery community. Aftercare planning may include referrals to outpatient treatment, recovery community centers, and other Providence Center services as needed.
