Affirming Support for Teens

Care is designed to be safe and welcoming for all teens. The program offers an LGBTQIA+ inclusive environment where identity exploration is supported without stigma. Treatment addresses both substance use and co-occurring mental health conditions, including eating disorders. Schedules consist of trauma-informed therapy, peer connection, and family involvement. Teens build social skills, practice self-expression, and strengthen resilience in a space that values diversity and belonging. This helps young people gain confidence and develop tools to navigate recovery and daily life with greater stability .

Whole-Family Treatment Approach

Parents and caregivers take part in regular Attachment-Based Family Therapy (ABFT) sessions that focus on rebuilding trust, improving communication, and reducing conflict at home. The program shifts the perspective from viewing the teen as the problem to recognizing the family as a system that can heal together. By practicing new skills in a supportive setting, families leave treatment with tools they can continue to use. This can help to strengthen relationships long after the program ends .

Healing Recreational Activities

Along with therapy, teens take part in adventure therapy activities such as trips to the beach and hiking in nearby Russell Ranch Park and the Santa Monica National Recreational Area. Teens also enjoy yoga, ropes courses, and tubing on nearby rivers. Improv theater and community service are other options for teens to express themselves and get involved. These experiences help teens reduce stress, express themselves, and learn practical coping skills in real-world settings

Academic and Life Skills Support

Education is provided during treatment to ensure teens don’t fall behind. Teens in the partial hospitalization program (PHP) spend time in the classroom each day, where specialized tutors help close learning gaps and build organizational and executive-functioning skills. Educational liaisons collaborate directly with home schools to ease transitions and maintain progress. The program also emphasizes practical life skills such as managing stress, building healthy peer relationships, and improving communication at home and in school.

Virtual OCD Treatment Program

The facility offers a specialized telehealth program for adolescents struggling with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). The program centers on exposure and response prevention (ERP), considered by many professionals to be a gold-standard approach for reducing compulsive behaviors and intrusive thoughts. Participants meet one-on-one with clinicians trained in ERP, while also receiving psychiatric support for medication management when needed. Group sessions create space to practice coping strategies and connect with peers facing similar challenges.
