Evaluations and Care Planning
When treatment commences, people are given assessments to get the details on their substance use and mental health history. Staff show new clients around the facility, and they are able to talk to members of the care team. Expectations can be set together during these meetings. If withdrawal management is needed, medical care for this can start right away. When they are stable enough, clients go to individual and group therapy, and attend workshops designed to help improve life skills and prepare people for independent life once again.
Full Continuum of Treatment with Step-Down Transitions
Clients are able to move between detox (withdrawal management), residential care, and outpatient programs without switching providers. This allows them to keep the relationships they build with clinicians. When clients are ready, they can step down to the next level of care; if they find they need more support, they can move in the other direction as well. During outpatient programs, people can go back to family and work responsibilities while still receiving treatment.
Substance Use, Primary Mental Health, or Both
Whether someone needs treatment for substance use or mental health, they can find both here; including care for co-occurring substance use and mental health conditions. Clinicians are trained to address disorders like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. Evidence-based therapies can be augmented with art therapy, yoga, fitness, and nutrition. This lends to holistic mind-body healing. Individuals who need mental health medications can participate in genetic testing (GeneSight). This process helps psychiatrists prescribe meds that zero in on specific body chemistry, reducing the need for trial and error in finding the right medication.
Veteran-Specific Recovery Available
Those who have served in the military can be given specific care that is designed to support their lived experience. This includes treatment for trauma, grief, and the obstacles veterans may face in the civilian world. Some staff members at Indiana Center for Recovery are also veterans, and are thus able to connect more closely with veteran clients and help them get the treatment they need.
