Aletheia House – Birmingham Men’s Residential provides 24-hour care for adult men with substance use disorders. Based in central Birmingham, this program supports both short- and long-term stays. As part of one of Alabama’s largest nonprofit treatment providers, it serves individuals with limited resources or unstable housing. The facility is designed for men at various stages of recovery who need a supportive environment and structured, community-based services.

Medication-Inclusive Approach to Recovery

This facility supports clients receiving medications for addiction treatment (MAT), including buprenorphine with naloxone. Buprenorphine can be prescribed on-site, and the program also accepts individuals already prescribed MAT through other providers. For men managing opioid or alcohol use disorders, this flexibility lowers barriers and supports continuity of care.

Evidence-Based and Trauma-Informed Therapy

Treatment at Aletheia House includes evidence-based methods like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, the Matrix Model, and relapse prevention. Trauma-related counseling and anger management are available for clients with co-occurring mental health needs. Group, family, and individual counseling are integrated alongside health education on HIV, hepatitis, tobacco cessation, and overdose prevention.

Wraparound Services that Support Stability

Beyond clinical care, clients receive help with housing, job training, and transportation. Case managers and peer mentors provide daily support, while staff help connect clients with social services and primary care. Discharge planning and outcome follow-up are built into the program to support long-term recovery. The facility also includes a veterans services coordinator and offers HIV testing and support, meeting the needs of clients with complex social or health challenges.
