Through guided interactions—such as grooming, leading, and observation—clients build trust, improve emotional regulation, and develop nonverbal communication skills. This form of therapy can be especially helpful for individuals processing trauma or those who have difficulty opening up in traditional talk therapy. Equine sessions are conducted off-site in partnership with a nearby provider and are integrated into the broader recovery plan.

Clients at Freedom Detox can access a range of experiential and holistic therapies that support emotional healing and self-regulation. Adventure therapy encourages growth through structured outdoor activities that build confidence and teamwork. Acupuncture and aromatherapy are used to reduce stress and support the body’s natural balance during withdrawal. Inner child therapy helps clients explore unresolved emotions from early life experiences, while life and purpose coaching offers clarity on personal goals. Sound therapy promotes relaxation through guided auditory experiences, and tai chi supports mindfulness and gentle physical movement, helping clients reconnect with their bodies in early recovery.

Comfortable Setting With Thoughtful Amenities

The center offers eight private rooms and 11 double-occupancy rooms with natural light, each equipped with cable televisions and secured restrooms. Clients have access to chef-prepared meals, a professional kitchen, and spacious indoor lounges with large-screen TVs. A private outdoor patio and green space provide areas for reflection and fresh air. The environment is structured and secure, with 24/7 staff presence, offering support through the emotionally demanding detox process.

12-Step Integration and Community Connection

Twelve-step principles are incorporated into the program to help clients build a foundation for peer-supported recovery. Staff introduce clients to the structure and values of groups like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and Narcotics Anonymous (NA), including the importance of sponsorship and fellowship. When appropriate, the facility offers transportation to off-site 12-step meetings, allowing clients to begin connecting with the broader recovery community during detox. This early exposure helps reduce isolation and prepares clients to engage with peer support networks after discharge.

Discharge Planning and Continued Care Support

Strong emphasis is placed on what happens after detox by integrating discharge planning and aftercare coordination into each client’s stay. From the start, case managers work with clients to identify appropriate next steps, whether residential treatment, outpatient care, or community-based support. The team provides referrals to trusted providers and helps coordinate logistics such as insurance, transportation, housing, and legal needs. Clients also receive guidance on attending 12-step or peer support meetings and may be connected with recovery coaches or local resources.
