Medically Supervised Detox

At its Columbia campus, LRADAC offers 24/7 withdrawal management for alcohol, opioids, benzodiazepines, and other substances. Care is overseen by physicians with round-the-clock monitoring and safe use of medications to reduce withdrawal symptoms. Most stays last five to seven days, helping clients stabilize physically and prepare for the next step in recovery.

Outpatient and Specialized Services

Outpatient programs are designed for adults, teens, and families balancing treatment with daily responsibilities. Services include counseling, education, skills training, and gender-specific options. Dedicated youth and teen programming supports healthy development while keeping families engaged. LRADAC also runs Maternal Outreach Management Services (MOMS) for pregnant and postpartum women, a confidential program for licensed professionals, and court-mandated services for DUI/DWI clients.

Evidence-Based Therapies and Medications

Treatment draws on approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, trauma counseling, contingency management, and relapse prevention. When appropriate, medications for addiction treatment (MAT) may include buprenorphine, naltrexone, disulfiram, acamprosate, and supportive options like clonidine. These tools are paired with therapy to manage cravings, reduce relapse risk, and support long-term stability.

Recovery Support and Community Role

LRADAC extends care beyond treatment sessions through peer mentoring, recovery coaching, housing and employment services, and overdose education. Family participation is encouraged to strengthen recovery networks at home. The center also ensures affordability through Medicaid, Medicare, private insurance, and financial aid. Transportation assistance, Spanish-language services, and support for people who are deaf or hard of hearing improve access.
