Innovative Therapies that Build Lasting Change

The center incorporates specialized therapies that go beyond standard approaches. Radically open DBT (RO-DBT) helps adolescents who struggle with over-control, easing anxiety, depression, and social isolation by teaching openness and connection. Motivational enhancement therapy (MET) builds a teen’s own drive to change, encouraging personal commitment. Trust-Based Relational Intervention® (TBRI) supports youth with attachment or trauma histories, fostering safe, stable bonds. The Community Reinforcement Approach strengthens recovery by replacing unhealthy behaviors with positive reinforcement from family, school, and community.

Academics Woven Into Treatment

Academics are integrated into treatment so teens don’t fall behind. The fully accredited on-site school offers core subjects, credit recovery, and advanced courses, ensuring students can keep pace with grade-level requirements. Special education services are also available for adolescents with learning differences. Teachers collaborate with therapists so classroom challenges are addressed alongside emotional and behavioral needs. This coordinated model means progress is measured both academically and clinically, reducing stress about missed credits or delayed graduation.

Family Involvement From Day One

Parents and caregivers are engaged throughout treatment. The program includes weekly family therapy sessions, multi-family groups, and parent education classes that teach communication skills, boundary-setting, and how to support recovery at home. Families also take part in structured home visits during the program, practicing new approaches in real-life settings and processing the experience with therapists afterward. A parent support group connects families with others facing similar challenges.

Ongoing Support

The center builds aftercare into every treatment plan, starting well before discharge. Families work with the clinical team to create relapse-prevention strategies, schedule outpatient therapy, and connect with community supports. Teens may continue care through the center’s intensive outpatient program (IOP) or step down to regular outpatient sessions, maintaining continuity with familiar therapists. Parents receive regular updates. Alumni groups and support meetings offer additional peer connection.

Specialized Trauma Care

A dedicated Trauma Treatment program is provided for adolescents with complex histories, including those impacted by domestic child sex trafficking. Care is trauma-informed at every level, with therapies designed to reduce re-victimization and build resilience. Through a partnership with the Montrose Center, the program provides specialized services for survivors in Harris County. Individual, group, and family sessions address safety, coping strategies, and rebuilding trust.
