Youth and family support
With outpatient substance use treatment available for adolescents ages 13-17 and mental health counseling available from age 5 through adulthood, the clinic can support behavioral health needs across different members of a family. This may be helpful if a youth's substance use affects the broader family and is also intended to support parents and siblings who may need mental health support of their own. Services may include family support assistance, parent education groups, family nights, family counseling, and couples counseling.
Integrated treatment
Counselors and therapists support clients with both substance use and mental health concerns, including when these needs occur together. Care can include individual, group, and family counseling, and treatment is shaped around each client's behavioral health needs. Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, the Matrix Model, relapse prevention, and trauma-related counseling may be types of treatment clients experience, and telehealth therapy may also be available for clients in need of more flexibility.
Practical recovery support
Practical support may include transportation assistance, housing support, employment counseling or training, recovery coaching, and peer support. Clients can access continuing care and discharge planning that may help them prepare for a more independent life. Naloxone and overdose education are available as additional recovery resources, and Spanish and sign language services may also be available.
Nonprofit roots
The facility is a nonprofit organization that started through grassroots street intervention in El Paso, Texas, around 1970. Its approach includes family involvement and considers each client’s individual recovery needs.
