Family-Centered and Trauma-Informed Care

Freedom House 1 specializes in supporting pregnant and parenting women by allowing them to live with their children during treatment. This family-focused approach reduces separation stress and promotes bonding during recovery. The program is rooted in trauma-informed care, recognizing that trauma often shapes substance use, and addresses both the immediate and long-term needs of mothers and children.

Accessible Admissions and Support

The facility offers same-day, evening, and weekend admissions, along with transportation from anywhere in Kentucky. This accessibility helps women start treatment quickly without logistical barriers, making it easier to balance family responsibilities while entering care.

Structured Continuum of Care

Treatment follows a three-phase model aligned with ASAM levels. Phase 1 offers high-intensity residential care focused on stabilization. Phase 2 transitions to low-intensity residential treatment, helping women practice new skills. Phase 3 provides intensive outpatient care with boarding, allowing participants to work part time while continuing therapy. Progress determines length of stay rather than a fixed schedule.

Services for Long-Term Stability

Evidence-based therapy is delivered through individual, family, and group sessions with licensed professionals. Medications for addiction treatment like Suboxone and Vivitrol are available for opioid and alcohol use disorders. Mothers receive CPS-qualified parenting classes, reunification planning, and support for birth plans. Case management includes housing, education, employment, and life-skills training. After treatment, transitional housing for up to two years and a strong alumni network provide ongoing stability and peer connection.
