Nature-Based Campus With Deep Community Roots

For more than 50 years, Family Ark has served children and families in Southern Indiana. Its 76-acre campus includes wetlands, walking trails, and open spaces designed for therapy, supervised family visits, and community events. This environment reflects the organization’s mission to strengthen families and promote lasting recovery.

Trauma-Focused and Holistic Treatment

Family Ark offers outpatient and intensive outpatient programs (IOP), including a gender-specific IOP for women healing from trauma. Evidence-based, trauma-informed approaches such as motivational interviewing (MI), trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), and child-parent psychotherapy (CPP) are combined with holistic practices like art, yoga, and mindfulness. Medications for addiction treatment (MAT), including buprenorphine and naltrexone, are available alongside therapy and medication management for conditions such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, and schizophrenia.

Whole-Family and Transitional Supports

Beyond therapy, Family Ark helps remove barriers to recovery with case management, housing assistance, childcare, supervised family visitations, transportation support, peer mentoring, and recovery coaching. Lotus House provides sober living for mothers in treatment, while foster care and transitional living programs extend support to children, teens, and families navigating crisis.

Accessible and Inclusive Care

Family Ark’s community-based and home-based services focus on keeping families together, reunifying children with parents, and stabilizing households. Programs welcome individuals with co-occurring mental health conditions and those who have experienced trauma, including pregnant and postpartum women. As a nonprofit provider, Family Ark accepts Medicaid, Medicare, state-funded coverage, and major private insurance. Telehealth options and transportation assistance further increase access to care.
