Trauma-Informed Recovery with a Military Focus
The specialized military services program is designed to meet the unique emotional and psychological needs of those who have served. Staff are trained in trauma-informed care, helping veterans feel understood and respected. This targeted focus fosters a sense of safety and camaraderie, critical for lasting recovery.
Natural, Tranquil Campus for Reflective Healing
Set on 29 serene acres just off Lake Erie, the facility offers a peaceful backdrop that supports recovery in both mind and body. The facility’s rural setting allows clients to experience nature as part of their healing process. The grounds also include lighted basketball courts, encouraging physical activity and informal connection in a structured environment. The setting is intentionally quiet and nature-centered, contributing to a sense of calm and safety that’s especially meaningful for individuals recovering from trauma or managing co-occurring mental health challenges.
Transportation and Step-Down Support After Discharge
To reduce logistical barriers, the facility provides transportation within a two-hour radius, an important resource for individuals without local support or access to reliable travel. The discharge process includes scheduled follow-up calls one day, one week, and one month after discharge, followed by monthly check-ins for up to a year. These structured touchpoints aim to ensure that individuals stay connected to their recovery goals, remain accountable, and have access to ongoing support.
What Patients Are Saying
Many former patients describe the staff as supportive and compassionate, with particular praise for the program’s structure and peer support. Veterans frequently note feeling validated and safe, a key factor in their recovery experience. However, some reviews mention long wait times and occasional administrative disorganization. There are also mixed comments on room conditions, signaling that comfort amenities may vary. Still, the overall tone is positive, especially regarding the quality of therapeutic engagement and staff dedication.
